WE HELP THOSE WHO HELP OTHERS
WHY IS CARING FOR OUR CAREGIVERS A PROBLEM IN OUR CONGREGATIONS?
We have found that so many times aging seniors get overlooked. All the while their caregiving families struggle to participate in church activities.
Family caregivers face a wide range of challenges as they support their aging parents. Burnout, isolation, mental & physical health complications and financial strain are common among those taking on added responsibilities to care for an ill or aging loved one.
The average caregiver is a working mother in her mid-forties, caring for a widowed mother in her late sixties while still raising her own children.
In the United States, unpaid family and friends provide 83% of care
to older adults.
